Welcome Home, Po
After serving more than eight years in prison, rapper Jamal "Shyne" Barrow was released today. He was charged with with attempted murder, assault and reckless endangerment in March 2001.
Now, unlike a lot of niggras, I believed that Shyne deserved the time he put in. You bring a gun with you, you pull it out, you shoot - you do your time. However, the soft spot for Shyne has always been the fact that he was obviously cleaning up his boss's mess - and his boss left him out to dry to save his own ass. According to that boss, Puff Daddy (fuck that Diddy shit), the two have spoken to each other recently. He said Shyne, now known as Moses Michael Leviy after converting to Judaism in prison, was said to be in good spirits.
Whatever the case may be, I wish him the best moving forward with his life. Just as I believe in doing the time for your crimes, I believe in rehabilitation and opportunities for second chances. Hopefully he finds happiness and peace in whatever he pursues in his future endeavors.
Edit: As of a minute ago, I found out that MTV has confirmed with Shyne's reps that he's still in custody pending an immigration review. So hold off on poppin that cris for now.
